From Meritech Capital's Software Pulse: Net dollar retention rates across public SaaS have continued to decline and are at their lowest point in years at a median of 110%. Upsells have decreased and churn and contraction have increased. NDR for public companies is probably at their lowest point since they have been reported this way. Have we hit rockbottom? I don't think so. Why? 1️⃣ Upsells driven by the AI wave are still minimal (Commercial Upsell Successes like GitHub CoPilot are few and far between). 2️⃣ With high interest rates, focus on profitability and cutting unnecessary software spend continues. Finance is in driver's seat. Churn/Contraction continues. I think the slide in NDR will continue in Q1. What do you think?
