This will make life easier for researchers, product designers, and anyone diving into their data. Analyzing large datasets will be orders of magnitude faster, and product design gets a creative boost with quick concept testing and broader "what if" scenarios accessed by natural language. Well done—this should drive a ton of third-party innovation.

📅 A new version of the Oracle Database is upon us. Dubbed Database 23ai, it highlights AI, more specifically how to connect it to data, of various types and models. We wrote a substantial piece on this latest long-term support, which sunsets the use of 'c' and replaces it with 'ai'. We take it to mean that the era of 'ai' has well and truly begun, and has replaced (or should we say, augmented) the era of cloud. My latest in Forbes takes a look at what Oracle announced: → Performance Boosts: AI queries are up to 32x faster, analytics throughput reaches 500GB/s per storage server, and OLTP write IOPS hit 1,000,000. → Cloud Flexibility: Seamless integration with OCI, Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Google Cloud. → Sustainability: Intelligent power management reduces energy use and operational costs. With deep integration between Oracle Database and purpose-built hardware, the X11M sets a new benchmark for speed, efficiency, and scalability across cloud, multi-cloud, and on-premises environments. IBM THINK is happening now in Boston…. Enterprise Customers are firmly supporting a number of key priories regarding AI. 1). TRUST is critical. Both the data used to train models and the governance used to ensure they act consistently in accordance with policies, intent and regulatory environments. 2) OPEN provides critical flexability to use the right model - for the right use-cases. 3) ECONOMICS matter - to go from pilot to production requires both a compelling aggregate business case and efficient inferencing unit-costs.
