Micron’s team delivered a record revenue quarter for our fiscal Q1, which represented an 84% increase from our year-ago revenue results. Our data center revenue reached a record high, making up more than half of our revenue for the first time, with revenue growing 400% year-over-year. Our shipments of HBM — a critical product for #AI data center servers — were ahead of plan and we doubled HBM revenue from the previous quarter. Customer inventory reductions in consumer-oriented segments and seasonality are slowing near-term bit shipment estimates. That said, we expect this adjustment period to be relatively brief and anticipate customer inventories reaching healthier levels by spring, enabling stronger bit shipments in the second half of fiscal and calendar 2025. Longer term, we see particularly robust growth ahead for HBM, with the total addressable market growing from $16 billion in 2024 to greater than $100 billion in 2030 (bigger than the entire combined DRAM/HBM market today). We continue to apply our technology leadership to create leading-edge products — from high-capacity server modules to SSDs, low-power DRAM and mobile memory — that address the high-growth segments of multiple markets, putting Micron in the strongest competitive position in our 46-year history.

The Future of India's Semiconductor Industry: A Crucial Decade Ahead - Ajit Manocha (SEMI - CEO) As India positions itself as a global leader in the semiconductor industry, the next ten years will be critical. Ajit Manocha, the President and CEO of SEMI, a leading semiconductor trade group, recently emphasized the urgent need for India to establish 10 to 20 semiconductor manufacturing plants, commonly known as fabs, within the next decade. This projection underscores the growing momentum in India’s semiconductor ecosystem, particularly as the country gains attention from major players like Taiwan, following the success of companies such as Foxconn and Wistron. India is set to host its first global conference on the semiconductor ecosystem, Semicon India 2024, from September 11-13 in Noida. This event will highlight India’s increasing role in the global semiconductor supply chain, with more than 650 booths and over 250 companies participating. Several companies are already making significant strides in setting up semiconductor units in India. Notably, Tata Electronics is spearheading the charge by establishing two units, including the nation’s first major wafer fabrication plant. Other companies such as Micron, CG Power, Suchi Semicon, and Kaynes Technologies are also contributing to this burgeoning industry. Manocha, who has over 40 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, believes that the current investments in wafer fabrication and chip packaging plants in India must succeed to attract further global investments. He also noted that the Indian government's clear policy direction, favorable public policies, and geopolitical factors are aligning to create a conducive environment for the growth of this critical industry. The rise of artificial intelligence (AI) is also a significant driver of demand in the semiconductor sector. Manocha pointed out that AI is now responsible for two-thirds of the growth in semiconductors, making it a pivotal factor in shaping the future of the industry. yieldHUB has semiconductor customers from 13 countries. Customers have, on average, been with us for 5 years. 33% have been with us for at least 5 years and 20% have been with us for more than 10 years. With few exceptions, customers are well funded private companies or well known and publicly quoted companies. Some dropped off over the years, but we grow net customers every year, this year being the second fastest of net customer growth after 2021 (move to cloud tech for big data accelerated during and just after Covid). 50% of payments by all customers are either on time or ahead of time. The payment average is 4 days over payment terms this year so far, 3 days over being the median. But every one of them has paid what they are supposed to, and that's going back 19 years. It is like ’ make hay while the sun shines ‘. •Delivery driven •Business is driven by revenue, but quality of revenue is ensured with delivery processes and management. Constant optimization will be the investment else, trick of the trade spread fast or will be driven by forced standards, resulting in add on cost and compromise on quality. Customer satisfaction will constantly decline. •Profit driven •Business is driven by quality of revenue with profit from business the focus, Finance take front seat before delivery processes and planning takes place. (business progress becomes short term (myopic) ), difficult to maintain customer satisfaction and loyalty.  •Technology driven •Business treats revenue, processes, customer satisfaction and profit as an outcome and invest in technology as a lever to achieve this growth. The approach is medium long term till the technology obsolescence kick in. •Customer experience driven •Business treat customer as paramount and creates a community around the brand and expand the community with mutual respect, influence and trust, eventually customer becomes ambassadors of the brand, technology is seen as one of the enablers and revenue and profit a result, processes evolve, and reputation of both sides become natural outcomes of this relation. Government Initiatives and Investments The Indian government has committed over ₹76,000 crore (approximately $10 billion) under the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme to boost semiconductor manufacturing.
