How can you decide between GMP consulting and full-time employment?
GMP expertise can lend itself to a very fulfilling and lucrative career. It’s important to note that just having GMP expertise does not mean you will be a great consultant . The best consultants are strong, capable communicators, both orally, and written, who can present in front of groups. They are adaptable, service, minded, individuals , who can flex for each client as GMP is site specific. Most importantly, to pursue a life of consultancy one needs to be business minded. There may be periods without work or income. You have to do your marketing, accounting and legal, unless you work through a firm or an agency. For most, working at a company is a better option, but for those who can manage the downsides consulting is most rewarding

What are some of the latest trends and best practices in interviewing techniques and tools?
Often too much gravity is placed on the actual interview, and not enough on the candidate’s contextual behavior leading up to the interview. It’s important to highlight that the act of interviewing can be learned and how one comports themselves around the interview event may have as much or more relevance as the interview itself. I challenge hiring teams to take a step back and consider the vetting of -email composition quality and timeliness -how they interacted with coordinators or admins -their social media footprint -who they have listed as references -how they have discussed compensation expectations -How they applied to the role etc. Use the entire application and vetting process to evaluate the candidate not just the interview.

Is Mass. Preparing Students For Tech Jobs Of The Future?
NPR/WGBH
In the next decade, computer-related jobs will dominate job growth in our area. Take biotechnology. It used to be that biotech jobs mainly required lab skills. But with the development of personalized medicine and stem-cell therapies, the industry needs scientists with computing expertise who can analyze large amounts of data to find the best therapies.
