#Geography2050 is in about 7 weeks. I'd have to say this is one of the most "slept on" conferences in Geospatial. When I talk to folks about attending, they are always asking, "Well, what happens there?" or "Is it a technical conference or a thought leadership conference?" It doesn't fit nicely into either of those categories, as most of us in Geospatial tend not to fit into any category either. It's a combination of the most brilliant minds in Academia, Government, and Industry discussing global issues and how Geography can help solve them. It's a leadership conference about how Geography is best positioned to address these global concerns before they become crises. Below is a video from the archive, which is open to anyone to watch, of Ms. Deanne Criswell, Administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA), and Vice Admiral Frank Whitworth, Director of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) Discussing Geospatial capabilities in understanding domestic and global risk.
