Business Evolution •Revenue driven •Business is driven by total revenue or Volume of business. Primarily driven by sales. It is like ’ make hay while the sun shines ‘. •Delivery driven •Business is driven by revenue, but quality of revenue is ensured with delivery processes and management. Constant optimization will be the investment else, trick of the trade spread fast or will be driven by forced standards, resulting in add on cost and compromise on quality. Customer satisfaction will constantly decline. •Profit driven •Business is driven by quality of revenue with profit from business the focus, Finance take front seat before delivery processes and planning takes place. (business progress becomes short term (myopic) ), difficult to maintain customer satisfaction and loyalty.  •Technology driven •Business treats revenue, processes, customer satisfaction and profit as an outcome and invest in technology as a lever to achieve this growth. The approach is medium long term till the technology obsolescence kick in. •Customer experience driven •Business treat customer as paramount and creates a community around the brand and expand the community with mutual respect, influence and trust, eventually customer becomes ambassadors of the brand, technology is seen as one of the enablers and revenue and profit a result, processes evolve, and reputation of both sides become natural outcomes of this relation. The Growth will be exponential and long-termprovided it is conscientious and continuous.

Micron’s team delivered a record revenue quarter for our fiscal Q1, which represented an 84% increase from our year-ago revenue results. Our data center revenue reached a record high, making up more than half of our revenue for the first time, with revenue growing 400% year-over-year. Our shipments of HBM — a critical product for #AI data center servers — were ahead of plan and we doubled HBM revenue from the previous quarter. Customer inventory reductions in consumer-oriented segments and seasonality are slowing near-term bit shipment estimates. That said, we expect this adjustment period to be relatively brief and anticipate customer inventories reaching healthier levels by spring, enabling stronger bit shipments in the second half of fiscal and calendar 2025. Longer term, we see particularly robust growth ahead for HBM, with the total addressable market growing from $16 billion in 2024 to greater than $100 billion in 2030 (bigger than the entire combined DRAM/HBM market today). We continue to apply our technology leadership to create leading-edge products — from high-capacity server modules to SSDs, low-power DRAM and mobile memory — that address the high-growth segments of multiple markets, putting Micron in the strongest competitive position in our 46-year history.

This is exciting. Optical silicon interconnect has been in the works for some years now - I worked a while with research teams on this topic starting back in 2013, with scientists and engineers who had already been developing the idea for several years. The rapid push to large AI models has greatly increased the urgency of technology advances like this in the last two or three years. No doubt that this is a milestone. The big question - and barrier - will be technology transfer into the supply chain ecosystem. Can industry partners develop and support efficient manufacturing processes and tooling with good yield and acceptable cost, and will manufacturing processes be able to scale to deliver enough volume for the solutions to have impact? And will this be a proprietary solution, only internal to the IBM systems and solutions, or will IBM work flexibly within the broader ecosystem, and with the UCIe interconnect standard for chip to chip (or chiplet to chiplet) communication and optical retimers? I did not see this addressed in the article, but if anyone knows the answer please comment!

Starting and growing a company is wildly difficult. Most don't make it. When you reach a certain size, it becomes an ongoing battle to prevent process fundamentalists from taking over. Global #PC Monitor Market Delivers Third Consecutive Quarter of Growth in Q2 2024 with Continued Recovery Expected into 2028, According to IDC The global #PC monitor market ended the second quarter of 2024 with 5.9% growth in unit shipments compared to the same quarter a year ago. This marked the third consecutive quarter where year-over-year growth was positive, indicating a recovery of the market after declining in 2022 and 2023, according to the International Data Corporation (IDC) Worldwide Quarterly PC Monitor Tracker. Several drivers affected the stronger than expected performance during the April to June quarter. First, the increased volume can be partly attributed to inventory restocking, mostly on the consumer side. Second, there was a notable effort to address anticipated cost escalations, which occurred due to panel cost increases beginning in April and led to pull-in volume earlier than expected. Third, many vendors continue to aggressively revamp models with 60 Hz refresh rate panels into 100 Hz as the faster panel costs have reached parity. Finally, continued expansion and competition in the consumer and #gaming market also led to the growth in the second quarter. #Intel Vs. #Samsung Vs. #TSMC #Foundry competition heats up in three dimensions and with novel technologies as planar scaling benefits diminish 💡 The three leading-edge #foundries — Intel, Samsung, and TSMC — have started filling in some key pieces in their roadmaps, adding aggressive delivery dates for future generations of #chip #technology and setting the stage for significant improvements in performance with faster delivery time for custom designs. Unlike in the past, when a single industry roadmap dictated how to get to the next process node, the three largest #foundries increasingly are forging their own paths. They all are heading in the same general direction with 3D #transistors and packages, a slew of enabling and expansive technologies, and much larger and more diverse ecosystems. But some key differences are emerging in their methodologies, architectures, and third-party enablement. Roadmaps for all three show that transistor scaling will continue at least into the 18/16/14 angstrom range, with a possible move from #nanosheets and forksheet FETs, followed by complementary FETs (CFETs) at some point in the future. The key drivers are #AI / #ML and the explosion of #data that needs to be processed, and in most cases these will involve arrays of processing elements, usually with high levels of redundancy and homogeneity, in order to achieve higher yields.
