Sales of new single-family homes dipped 4.7% between March and April, sliding from to an annual rate of 665,000 to 634,000, according to the U.S. Census Bureau and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Sales were down 7.7% compared to 687,000 a year earlier. The median price of a new home sold during the month fell to $433,500 from $439,500 in March.
