Good points here. (A "gatekeeper" company is going to get a lot of unwanted attention if they make it really easy to turn off every competitor's cross-context user tracking while leaving their own cross-context user tracking turned on. Whatever form the cookie preference ends up taking, it's going to also have to control Google tracking that isn't technically cookie-based but would otherwise be unfairly/illegally advantaged)

People often ask me what value I got from my liberal arts background. After all, I graduated with degrees in History and Theology at the height of the 2008 recession. Not quite immediately employable in that market. But my answer to the question usually sounds an awful lot like the below. However, storytelling is often an overlooked individual skill when applying for jobs because it can be so intangible. There's no test score a candidate can put on a resume that proves they can create a compelling narrative. And let's be honest, no one is really reading cover letters these days. You have to fight through the Applicant Tracking Systems first and reach the inevitable project portion of the evaluation process to prove you're a storyteller. Even businesses themselves often fail to see storytelling as a priority. Organizations that don't put time and energy into crafting their narrative and then understanding how to tell that story to different audiences will eventually become stagnant. To invest in your story (as a business or an individual) first means that you have to understand the principles of storytelling. It's these competencies that a liberal arts education provides in spades.

Interesting insights into OpenAI's publisher partnerships from a leaked presentation: 1. Only for "select, high-quality editorial partners." 2. Enhanced display of information from partners. 3. Fixed payment for access, and variable payment based on usage. Data suggests that generative search tools can answer a user's question 75% of the time with no need to visit a website. For decades, marketers were taught that attention was the holy grail. Catch someone’s eye, and the battle was half-won. Platforms optimized for clicks, brands chased impressions, and we built strategies around fleeting moments of engagement. But today, attention is cheap—and fleeting. Here’s what’s changed: 1. Overexposure: The average consumer sees upwards of 6,000 ads per day. Overwhelmed by noise, they’re tuning most of it out. (Forbes) 2. Distrust: Consumer trust in advertising has plummeted. According to Edelman, only 33% of people say they trust ads. Instead, they rely on peers, influencers, and authentic brand experiences. (Edelman Trust Barometer) 3. Intentional Consumption: Social media usage is declining among younger demographics, as people prioritize wellness and mindfulness. Platforms like TikTok and YouTube still thrive, but they reward depth and authenticity, not gimmicks. (Pew Research) Consumers aren’t mindlessly scrolling anymore. They’re curating their feeds, blocking ads, and choosing substance over spectacle.

The AI revolution is a dream come true for modern marketers. When generative AI went mainstream, we embraced some quick win use cases like content creation and quick photo editing. But what came next was much bigger. We saw AI copilots come onto the scene to ride along humans. And then... autonomous AI Workers. The inbound SDR is the perfect example of a role that are ripe for AI. The tasks are repetitive and largely language-based, and require a vast amount of knowledge about your product. Fielding FAQs, booking meetings, sending follow-up emails… If AI can take over those tasks, you can free up your people to work on even higher-value projects. Perhaps prospecting or running disco calls. But not everyone is there yet, and we know it will take some time for enterprise teams to fully embrace AI Workers. Our Co-founder, Sean Whiteley, talks with customers every day about where they are on their AI journey and this is what he’s observed: The C-suite is under a lot of pressure Sean hears from execs all the time that their boards are mandating they get a strategy around their AI experimentation. It’s clear AI is the next tech revolution and VCs know that this is the direction the industry is heading, so CMOs and CROs and CTOs are all drinking through a firehose right now to get up to speed. People are cautiously optimistic Even with the speed at which this revolution is happening, there’s a lot of optimism on teams about what this means for the future of SaaS. Sean is hearing a lot about experimental budget opening up and teams getting room to play as these AI Workers hit the market. Everyone is starting to move in the same direction  These shifts take time, but we’re at a point in the revolution where most teams realize they need a strategy around how and when they automate roles and integrate generative AI products into their tech stacks.
