It's easy to get lost in the job search. With the surge of Quick Apply, volume of Inmails (relevant and not so much), keeping track can be a full time job. Top tip, keep a detailed record of all your applications. Whether they be direct applications, through agency or internal referral it's the best way to know how you are performing in the job search. Less is more. Which can include assessing how your CV is being read, converting to interview and being able to keep it as tailored to the job as possible. It can be easy to hit the Quick Apply button, or just tell an agency to send your CV out (I don't recommend). But it can be damaging to your profile and just not very efficient. Let’s dispel a bit of a rumor in recruiting. Above board recruiters will not inflate a candidate’s comp expectations to make more off a fee. Not only that, I am convinced this is rarely a REAL thing. We are so focused on client delivery, recruitment, and closure, so we will do what it takes to get a preferred candidate over the goal line. Giving a false impression of a candidate’s comp expectations is not part of that calculus. Sure, some niche and proven talent comes at a higher cost. That’s the market speaking. The fee structure most agencies use with clients is pretty standard industry-wide (X% of the candidate's salary for perm roles). Some agencies use alternative fee structures since it works better for both parties and creates more alignment - e.g. ongoing monthly retainers, embedded recruiters/RPO, flat rates, etc. Some markets have unique factors that make a non-standard fee structure more mutually beneficial for both the agency/client. Pricing structure and strategy is something that most agencies don't really dig into since it's easier to go with the status quo since it's what clients expect and are used to. I'm curious - if you've used alternative fee structures, how do you like it? Has it worked out better for everyone long term?

ATS/CRM Recommendations please: Can anyone recommend an ATS/CRM that can do the following: - show a 1 page visual of all live jobs, that shows candidates by stage - is shareable with anyone where they can access easily with a link - is real time so, said link can be viewed anytime by any of the hiring stakeholder/HR & TA OR agency recruiter (bonus point if I as a candidate can see which stage I am at) I made a shitty mock up on microsoft word to visualise it. The key is, live link, viewable by multiple parties that shows candidate names per stage I am yet to see this in such an accessible way Help - I want to make the world a better and more efficient place...

Here is a list of the key reasons I’ve heard from agencies over the last 8 years that I actually agree with as to why measuring the candidate experience isn’t a priority for them right now. There isnt one! Not a single one. Candidates deserve the best service you can give and if you aren’t measuring it you can’t improve it. No one is perfect but we can all improve.

Is X (Twitter) growing or shrinking??? Everyone on #X seems to be announcing they are leaving for #threads or #bluesky but they still remain on X and still keep announcing they are leaving every few weeks. It’s a bit like all the celebs and business people who said they would leave the USA if Trump won. But they haven’t. Here are some stats!!! 🔴Monthly users: X claims to have 570 million monthly users, which is a 6% increase year-over-year 🔴Daily user seconds: X is seeing 361.9 billion daily user seconds in cumulative time 🔴Video views: Video views in the app are up 45% to 8.2 billion per day 🔴However, daily users of X have declined consistently since Elon Musk acquired it in 2022. Although Elon says otherwise. 🔴X is the 12th most popular social media platform. 🔴X is more popular with men than women, with male users accounting for almost 61 percent of the platform's user base. 🔴The United States has the highest number of X users worldwide, with 95.6 million users. 🔴Japan has the second highest number of X users worldwide, with 67.4 million users. 🔴About 350,000 tweets/posts are sent every minute on X. 🔴The posts on X get about 100 billion impressions every day. Personally I do find X to be full of poison and annoying bots but amongst the sh*t is quite a bit of opinion that #MSM simply doesn’t tell you.
