New ✨Mandatory Reporting✨ coming to you! 2024 is the first year for needing to file a Beneficial Ownership Information Report for your business. Have you filed yours yet, maybe this is the first hearing of it?!?!? ❓❓What is it, you may ask?  Mandatory reporting for owners of their ownership interest from yours truly, the Corporate Transparency Act. Requirements for small business that have: -           Under $5M in revenue -           Under 20 employees You must file this report to provide full transparency into ownership or significant control over the business. Met with a business owner that was struggling with their tax burden. We review their documents and it turns out their business is a C-Corp. The person is not paying themselves a high enough salary so they are essentially being double taxed on some of their income. This is why they are struggling to pay their taxes…. This is nothing against C-Corps, but if not handled properly you can find yourself literally paying taxes twice. For this business it makes sense to make a S-Corp election going forward. Sometimes it’s just a simple fix! #taxresolution
