Notably, the first half of March saw a surge in imports over 22% higher than last year, driven by delayed New Year celebrations. Despite geographical shifts in market shares among ports, overall strength in import volumes suggests sustained growth. As volumes increase, delays and data inaccuracies also grow. [Tariff Watch] On Monday, November 25, President-elect Donald Trump announced via Truth Social that he plans to impose sweeping tariffs immediately upon taking office. On Day 1, Trump intends to implement a 25% tariff on all products from Mexico and Canada, alongside a 10% tariff on products from China.
