Check out our interview with horror writer Tim Waggoner, winner of four Bram Stoker awards and author of over 60 (wow!) novels, short story collections, and media tie-ins. (PS: if you like the Alien or Resident Evil franchises, this guy wrote novelizations for both!).

So what does AI actually "think" when you ask it to write you a best selling fantasy novel? How does it know what to say, when to say it, and how to say it in a way that doesn't go off the rails? Check out our interview with AI expert, Bill Moore. He breaks it down for the non-techie in us and explains what it's doing, why, and how to get the most out of your questions as writers. https://lnkd.in/gw6M_4Vu

One of the most fun and funniest episodes we've done in quite a while! If you want to see a side by side comparison, with commentary, of one of our podcast episodes VS Notebook LM, this is the one for you! https://lnkd.in/gMPA29kZ
I know, I know...I've been shirking my podcast announcement duties... Despite this, we have grown considerably since we started our new Authorship & AI series. We've interviewed authors and editors and tested new AI platforms. In this latest episode, we pit our podcast against Notebook LM. The good news? Kim and I aren't worried about being replaced anytime soon. The bad news? Well...it doesn't look good for Notebook LM. https://lnkd.in/gstwimFv

Check out our interview with editor, author, and writing coach Kristen Tate! She gives us a preview of her new writing advice book, Novel Study, and gives us some tips to keep the middle of our novels engaging for readers. She's been on our show more than once and each time she gives us and our listeners such valuable advice.

If you love Wolverine like I do (esp Logan), then you'll enjoy this week's show notes. On the podcast, we talk abou the Call to Adventure, but also the Refusal of the Call. Have you all noticed that Wolverine, in all of his films, Refuses the Call to Adventure throughout the film, not just after receiving the Call? He tries to get out of the journey like 5 times in Logan, and even in the new Deadpool and Wolverine, they have a montage of alt dimensional Wolverines telling Deadpool to GTFO. Show notes are fun to write. All's I have to say.

Welcome to Stage Two: The Call to Adventure (also, Stage Three: Refusal of the Call)!. In this episode, we get right to it with all (ok not ALL but A LOT of) the ways you can kickstart your Hero and the Journey into action! Like a swift kick in the pants, your Hero won't be able to avoid the Adventure! (And we'll enjoy watching them try and fail).

Ever wonder how to plot a murder? Well this is the episode for you! This week, we talk plotting with murder mystery author, Colette Clark! She's as plucky as her famous sleuth and as generous with her advice as an expertly written craft book. We had such a great time with her and we think you will too. Also...Kim really does find the funniest things Renee says to end the podcast.
