Closing The Women’s Health Gap The World Economic Forum released the "Blueprint to Close the Women's Health Gap: How to Improve Lives and Economies for All." It highlights the urgent need to address the significant health inequities women face globally. The report emphasizes that women spend 25% more of their lives in poor health compared to men, leading to a substantial loss of 75 million years of life annually due to poor health or early death. Key takeaways from the report include: 💥 The need for better data collection and standards to understand women's health comprehensively. Increased research funding and focus on women's health, including sex-disaggregated analysis. 💥 Improved clinical practice guidelines and healthcare delivery systems tailored to women's needs. Addressing health disparities and promoting global health equity. 💥 Increased investment in women's health, from clinical research to social support services. The report also highlights nine conditions that significantly contribute to the women's health gap: 💥 Lifespan Conditions: Ischaemic heart disease, cervical cancer, breast cancer, maternal hypertensive disorder, and postpartum haemorrhage. 💥 Health-span Conditions: Premenstrual syndrome, menopause, endometriosis, and migraines. 👉 To read the full report, see the comments for the link. #womenshealth #genderequality #healthinnovation
