This Friday 3/7 the Harvard Joint Center for Housing Studies' Senior Research Associate, Dr. Whitney Airgood-Obrycki, will discuss a recent research brief she co-authored on the number of cost-burdened renter households that have reached a new record high. New poll results from Greater Greater Washington confirms District residents from all demographics are concerned about #housingaffordability and availability. Interestingly, 81% of residents think there is too little #affordablehousing for the moderate-income levels. WHC's unique model preserves affordable rental housing for all income levels, including middle-income earners, and builds community. The majority of DC residents are in support of solutions that address affordable housing for all. #washhousing #mixedincome https://lnkd.in/egdPggYU

"WHC has a focus on the squeezed "missing middle" in the market. There's a real need there. We need to change the narrative of who is in need and what interventions are needed." WHC CEO Kimberly Driggins was a speaker at ULI Washington's Future Forum: Crisis to Prosperity yesterday. The day's discussions featured leaders from DMV for-profits, non-profits and public officials. Cross sector discussions like these are integral to creating and preserving the 325,000 units the region needs to house its residents. #2025FutureForum #affordablehousing #washhousing #missingmiddle
