USCA is now offering PhD Student Travel Grants! USCA aims to be recognized as the international leaders in sales research and this program is designed to enhance the ability to pursue sales research. • There will be 10 travel grants of $1000 each to be given on a first-come basis. There is NO deadline. The grants will be awarded through the limit of 10 grants. • Students can use the money to defray the cost of travel to a conference to present a sales-related paper at a session. The USCA research grant program aims to recognize sales research with potential applications for industry and/or sales educators. A selection committee chooses one to two scholars each year to receive a $5,000 research grant. The University Sales Center Alliance is pleased to announce the winners of the 2024 USCA Research Grant: Nicole Boylan (doctoral candidate at the University of Alabama, Manderson Graduate School of Business), Curtis Schroeder (doctoral candidate at the Spears School of Business - Oklahoma State University), Sebastian Forkmann (Associate Professor of Marketing at the University of Alabama, Manderson Graduate School of Business), Clay Voorhees (Professor of Marketing at the University of Alabama, Manderson Graduate School of Business), and Bryan Hochstein (Associate Professor of Marketing at the University of Alabama, Manderson Graduate School of Business) with their proposal titled “Driving Sales Cycle Progression in Videoconferencing: How Salesperson Camera and Screen Share Decisions Impact Customer Outcomes” and Robin-Christopher Ruhnau (Assistant Professor at Catholic University of Eichstaett-Ingolstadt), Dr. Boas Bamberger (Post-doctoral researcher at the University of Cologne), Sebastian Hohenberg (Professor of Digital Transformation at the University of Münster), and Dominik Wahlig (independent researcher) with their proposal titled “Networking with Coworkers: Its Impact on Cross-Selling and Performance at the Salesperson Level“ Congratulations to the winners! USCA's year saw many accolades and great work. September 2024 saw the first USCA Lifetime Achievement Award be given to Jimmy Peltier! Congratulations to him! If there was a Mt. Rushmore of Sales Education, he's definitely on it. Congratulations to Jimmy Peltier, USCA's 2024 Lifetime Achievement Award Winner! Peltier received his Ph.D. in Marketing at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He has over 35 years of business experience as a consultant, Research Director in an Advertising Agency, and as President of a marketing consulting firm. Dr. Peltier's sales expertise lies in developing buyer-seller relationships, understanding students’ intent to pursue a sales career, database requirements for the sales force, and successful relationship marketing practices. Dr. Peltier directed the launch of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Institute for Sales Excellence in 2012, and has led it to national prominence as an institution and as a sales competition powerhouse. Dr. Peltier is a Past-President of both the University Sales Center Alliance and the American Marketing Association Collegiate Chapters Council (twice).
