As the new administration threatens the sustainability of our work, peacemakers are committed to doing what they always have: saving lives. The City of Los Angeles Office of Community Safety recognized 26 Community Based Organizations for their continuous efforts in reducing violence. Great work 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾

LA Peacemakers Initiative is a project focusing on enhancing community safety in LA’s most violence-impacted neighborhoods. Through the initiative, Urban Peace Institute is administering millions in federal and philanthropic grants to 18 CVI organizations. Since the beginning of the initiative, the average number of non-fatal injuries reported per month by coalition members decreased by 24%. In 2024, peacemakers proved what we know to be true: community violence intervention saves lives. Now more than ever, it is imperative to recognize the successful impact of the LA Peacemakers Initiative as we work tirelessly to ensure funding is sustained. 📢 WHAT NOW? Over 40 Latino leaders and advocates from across the country gathered to share recommendations to #endgunviolence and uplift community-based safety solutions.
