Last Friday, we hosted our annual Energy Innovation Conference, where experts in clean energy, urban planning, mobility, and climate resilience explored solutions for a sustainable future. A sold-out event, insightful content sessions, plenty of networking opportunities, and an amazing mix of attendees from across campus and wider LA community! Discussions covered public transit, climate-ready infrastructure, and public-private partnerships tackling wildfire preparedness - highlighting both challenges and opportunities for Los Angeles. So many takeaways…here are a few: ⚡ California’s Clean Energy Leadership – the keynote, David Hochschild, highlighted the state now has more EV chargers than gas pumps and has achieved 100% clean electricity for 219 days in 2024, showcasing the accelerating shift to #renewables. 🏟️ Sustainability at LA28 Olympic & Paralympic Games – Becky Dale shared how the Games will be the first modern Olympics & Paralympics with zero new venue construction, focusing on radical reuse, second-life materials, and enhanced public transit to reduce its footprint. 🏙️ Mega-events, cities, and industries can be catalysts for climate solutions and sustainability requires #collaboration across industries, policymakers, and communities. 👏🏼 Thank you to all the incredible speakers, conference organization team and attendees who made this day a success! At our Center for Impact at UCLA Anderson School of Management, we’re committed to continuing this momentum—connecting MBA students, researchers, and community organizations to drive sustainable impact. The path to sustainable, resilient cities is a collective effort, and we’re excited to be part of the journey! #SustainableCities #LA28 #ClimateResilience #UrbanInnovation #EnergyInnovation #UCLAAnderson #SustainableMobility #SmartCities UCLA Energy & Cleantech Association

We’re excited to see this year’s Board Fellows make an impact and further strengthen the bridge between UCLA Anderson School of Management and the Southern California nonprofit community. Stay tuned for updates on their journey!
