ULI Philadelphia hosted its annual Real Estate Forecast for over 500 members in the Greater Philly region today at the Bellevue Hotel. Wexford Science & Technology's own John Grady was featured on a panel named "Capitalizing on 2026: Leveraging Investment for Real Estate Opportunities" with Michael Newmuis, City of Philadelphia; Ariella Maron, Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC); Aaron Pitts, Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development; and Angela Val, VISIT Philadelphia. John spoke about leveraging the talents and opportunities of the life sciences sectors as the 2026 spotlight falls on Philly for the Semiquincentennial, the FIFA World Cup, and various city-wide conferences slated to take place in our city. John also highlighted the enormous benefits of a thriving life science knowledge community in bringing top talent to our region: "We have earned this: it didn't drop out of the sky. The track record of hosting top notch events was something that many people worked very hard to attract." "We can merge our stories of Philadelphia, and we'll have an enormous amount of media following these stories. We need to merge the stories of development in our region and the success of development in the region. More and more the average person who visits is thinking that they could live here. If we tie that narrative back to work, it drives investment, it drives development. Come to Philadelphia, and stay for work! The great challenge for us as a real estate community is to plug into the great network of visitor-focused businesses and develop the story of Philly as a place to live and work."

This afternoon, we'll be dedicating uCity Square's newest artwork, 'Ascendance', in collaboration with Mural Arts Philadelphia and artists Nina Cooke John, Yolanda Wisher, and Kendrah Butler-Waters. The event will include remarks from Councilmember Jamie Gauthier, Jane Golden, Executive Director of Mural Arts Philadelphia, and the artists and partners; the soundscape premiere; a poetry reading; an original dance performance; screen printing; and light refreshments for the whole community.
