Pharma giant Merck is growing its footprint in Durham with a new manufacturing facility coming online and another in the works. Merck says the expansion in Durham is part of more than $12 billion the company has invested in U.S. manufacturing and research and development capabilities in the U.S. since 2018.

Raleigh's McConnell Golf has added another golf course to its portfolio, this one with ties to the University of South Carolina. McConnell now has 17 properties across the Southeast. In South Carolina, McConnell already owned Musgrove Mill Golf Club in Clinton and The Reserve Golf Club in Pawleys Island.
