Last night at the 2025 NEXT Conference everyone met to celebrate another great day and 25 years of connecting businesses with electric cooperatives. This reception and many years of programming have been presented, strategically aligned, with NRUCFC (National Rural Utilities Cooperative Finance Corporation) and Touchstone Energy Cooperatives.
Fifty 2025 NEXT Conference attendees joined fifty volunteers with Lee County Electric Cooperative (LCEC) for a meal packing event with Meals of Hope, a nonprofit dedicated to providing nutritious meals to families in need. The Southwest Florida area has been severely impacted by Hurricanes over recent years and these meals will help those in need. They hugely surpassed their goal of 12,000 and assembled 15,120 meals!
For the 2025 NEXT Conference's second General Session, NRUCFC (National Rural Utilities Cooperative Finance Corporation)'s Senior Economic Researcher, Sam Kem, shared vital economic drivers of the energy industry. We also heard from NRECA's Vice President of Legislative Affairs, Hill Thomas, who shared a national perspective on the new administration and the regulatory and legislative landscapes affecting the energy industry, and Christopher Guith, Senior Vice President of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Global Energy Institute, who builds on America’s energy promise through policy development, education and advocacy.
