𝐄𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞’𝐬 𝐕𝐂 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐬𝐞𝐭 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐬 𝐚𝐧 𝐮𝐩𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞. 𝐋𝐞𝐭’𝐬 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐤 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. Too often, I see European investors stuck on proof over potential. Metrics are scrutinized, risks are avoided, and founders feel compelled—almost forced—to incorporate elsewhere (𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘰, 𝘋𝘦𝘭𝘢𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘦). But here’s what we’re missing: → 𝘽𝙞𝙜 𝙬𝙞𝙣𝙨 𝙧𝙚𝙦𝙪𝙞𝙧𝙚 𝙗𝙤𝙡𝙙 𝙗𝙚𝙩𝙨. Silicon Valley thrives because investors there ask, “How big can this get?” instead, “How safe is this bet?” → 𝙁𝙖𝙞𝙡𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙩 𝙜𝙧𝙤𝙬𝙩𝙝. Europe’s culture often treats failure as final. But if you don’t get back up, you’ll never reach that second or third attempt where success usually happens. → 𝙀𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙞𝙨 𝙠𝙚𝙮. Many investors here still don’t fully understand venture capital as an asset class. Without that knowledge, they hesitate—and hesitation kills opportunity. Yet, there’s hope. Venture University is demystifying investing and equipping future VCs with hands-on experience. We’re also building ecosystems that allow founders to scale locally while thinking globally. It’s not about copying Silicon Valley. It’s about embracing ambition, celebrating resilience, and fostering innovation. Risk isn’t something to avoid—it’s something to manage.
