Today we observe Martin Luther King, Jr. Day by sharing information from the National Civil Rights Museum in Memphis, Tennessee. Noted as one of the nation's premier heritage and cultural museums, the National Civil Rights Museum at the Lorraine Motel is steadfast in its mission to share the culture and lessons from the American Civil Rights Movement and explore how this significant era continues to shape equality and freedom globally. Established in 1991, the National Civil Rights Museum is located at the former Lorraine Motel, where civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated on April 4, 1968. Through interactive exhibits, historic collections, dynamic speakers and special events, the museum offers visitors a chance to walk through history and learn more about a tumultuous and inspiring period of change. Today the Museum shares a message of hope and unity through a virtual presentation that includes creative tributes and community testimonials. It features a discussion of who King was as a leader of peace and justice with a fresh perspective on his humanity with a focus on his 1968 book, "Where Do We Go from Here?: Chaos or Community." Led by Jackson County Engineer Melissa Miller, PE, PS, the mission continues to use the design-build project delivery method to accelerate both bridge design & construction and improve the county highway system sooner rather than later for all in Jackson County OH! Design-Build bridge construction progresses on JAC-TR217 (Brohard Road)0.05; a Jackson County Engineer Local-Let Federal/State Exchange funded project. Using a MSG Geotech Report & existing right-of-way, the DBT designed a single-span bridge on piling via prebored holes, reinforced concrete footers/abutments/wing-walls, & concrete beams, to support a reinforced concrete deck. The contractor set beams Thursday 12/19 & is now on a well deserved break. Bridge deck construction will continue in January then we’ll wait for Mother Nature to grant us a week of warmer weather for the contractor to place the concrete deck. As one of Engineer Miller’s project partners, MSG Construction Services LLC provided Bid Administration services including design-build plan reviews & continues to provide Construction Administration services such as project management, inspection, materials management, and quality assurance services through the winter months & project closeout. Exciting times in Jackson County OH thanks to the leadership of Jackson County Engineer Melissa Miller, PE, PS! #construction #inspection #engineering #localpublicagency #projectmanagement #jacksoncountyengineer #jacksoncounty #designbuild #countyengineersassociationofohio #countyengineers #bidadministration #constructionadministration #bridgeconstruction

MSG is proud to invest in our co-ops, as they are the future of our industry. Our own Kaleb Spear, a long-term co-op and student at The University of Toledo, recently earned his Remote Pilot Certificate under the FAA's Small UAS Rule (Part 107). We're proud of the role Jared Bruner has played in mentoring Kaleb over the past 18 months. Just as we develop our people, we continue to enhance our technology and offerings to clients. MSG provides drone-based LiDAR, photogrammetry and thermal inspection services. We can help save time and money on projects by gathering all field data at once, reducing the need for return trips to gather additional data.
