Here are a few quick facts about the ongoing Salt Lake Temple renovation project: ☀️ ➔ Temple Square is open to the public. Surrounding buildings, such as the Conference Center, Church History Museum, Tabernacle, Church History Library, and Family Search Library, remain open. Crews are beginning to wrap up construction in: ➔ two baptistries ➔ baptistry chapel ➔ celestial rooms ➔ sealing rooms ➔ The underground addition to the temple has an additional 100,000 square feet. ➔ The temple will have two baptistries instead of one and 22 sealing rooms (where marriages occur), up from 13. ➔ Visitors may now see a new statue installed on Temple Square. The Come, Follow Me statue is located north of the Tabernacle. Many new statues will be added throughout 2025 and 2026. “I have found such a great community working at the Church with others who want to develop themselves and those around them to feel empowered in their work.” Read Diana’s full story below: “When I moved to Utah in 2013, I needed a job to pay for college. “I applied for and was offered a part-time role as a swing shift custodian at Church headquarters. “I worked in that role for about two years while focusing on my education. “My supervisor then asked me if I’d be interested in becoming a Custodial Team Lead someday. “I mentioned that I hadn’t ever thought about it, but I wasn’t opposed to it. I eventually interviewed and was promoted to Team Lead. “This became a pattern in my employment. “Over the next several years, my education shifted from healthcare to business management. “After starting my career in recruiting and employee development, an HR director asked me if I’d consider a role in HR at the Church, which is my current position. “I am so grateful to have had managers and peers who constantly pushed me to try new things and consider opportunities I hadn’t thought of before. “I joke around that my standard answer to the question ‘Have you ever considered a role in … ?’ is ‘No, but tell me about it!’ “As an HR generalist I’ve had so many great opportunities to help develop others and myself. “While high school Diana never thought about going into the world of HR for the Church, I have found such a great community here with others who want to develop themselves and those around them to feel empowered in their work.” - Diana Winger HR Generalist You may find yourself ready to make a career change. In 2024, the Church strengthened relationships with key organizations that make a difference in the face of disasters, like American Red Cross. In March, leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints were able to present the American Red Cross with a $7.35 million donation. This donation would allow the organization to: —Purchase blood equipment. —Obtain biomedical emergency vehicles. —Continue blood donor engagement initiatives. —Support patients with sickle cell disease. “This is a very, very generous gift. I’m incredibly pleased and touched,” said CEO Cliff Holtz. “The reason our [collaboration] has staying power is because we share so many common values—humanitarian spirit, a call to serve, building trust. This is special in so many ways—and it’s not just because of a check.
