Data Center Energy Management: #DivconControls has launched a new Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) service, which provides users with "real-time data insights to optimize energy efficiency, reduce waste, and lower operational costs." 2. Cloud Services and Higher Education: A new Amazon Web Services (AWS) eBook helps colleges and universities to understand how cloud services can impact higher education #sustainability goals. 3. Partnership - EV Charging and IT Consulting: HCLTech is partnering with ChargePoint to establish an #EVcharging research center Bengaluru, India. 4. Google Quantum Computing Strategy: Google is striving to release commercial #quantumcomputing applications within five years, Reuters reported. "We’re optimistic that within five years we’ll see real-world applications that are possible only on quantum computers," founder and lead of Google Quantum AI Hartmut Neven said, the report added. 5. Solar Manufacturing Shift: Enphase Energy is in the process of moving its battery cell manufacturing out of China to avoid tariffs imposed by President Trump, Bloomberg reported. 6. Honeywell Breakup Plan: Honeywell, facing pressure from activist investor Elliott Investment Management, plans to break itself up into three publicly traded companies by the second half of 2026. One of the resulting companies, called #HoneywellAutomation, will focus extensively on #smartbuildings, technology, #datacenter customers, and associated sustainable IT strategies. 7. M&A - Private Equity and Solar Technology: Private equity firm TPG is acquiring #solarenergy giant Altus Power, Inc. for $2.2 billion. Among the potential opportunities ahead: Providing solar energy to power #AI data centers, Sustainable Tech Partner believes. 8. Data Center Land Purchase: #Verne, a provider of sustainably powered data centers across the Nordics, has acquired the land at its existing Helsinki data center campus, securing room for future expansion, the company said. Private investment and asset management firm Ardian acquired Verne in March 2024. 9. Funding - Grid Modernization: IONATE, which is building a hardware-software backbone for #smartgrids, has raised $17 million in Series A funding. AlbionVC led the round. The IONATE system is designed to improve power grid efficiency and capacity, the startup said. 10. United States - Michigan and Carbon Management Software: The Michigan Department of Technology, Management & Budget (DTMB) plans to leverage NZero software for a live carbon tracking program. Partnership - Financial Solutions: Zero Circle has integrated its financial marketplace into Schneider Electric's Zeigo platform. The integration "empowers organizations to seamlessly measure, manage, and mitigate #carbonemissions through accessible, actionable, and financially #sustainable solutions." 2. Software: ESG AI has launched a self-titled software platform that help companies "take control of their sustainability journey without the need for costly consultants or in-house #ESG teams." The platform, which costs $500 annually, "automates assessments, benchmarks ESG performance, identifies supplier risks, and generates tailored action plans, making compliance, risk mitigation, and ESG strategy accessible to everyone," ESG AI said. 3. Consulting: #ESGImpact has launched ESG Prism, which provides customers with a two-month consulting engagement that includes a "tailored ESG strategy, comprehensive risk analysis, gap identification, and performance benchmarking." An ESG Prism engagement costs $4,999. ESG Impact is based in Australia. 4. New CEO - #SmartBuilding Technology: Johnson Controls is hiring Joakim Weidemanis to succeed George Oliver as #CEO. 5. New CEO - EV Charging Networks: Blink Charging has completed a planned CEO transition to Mike Battaglia. 6. Jeff Bezos Fund Ends SBTi Support: Amazon founder Jeff Bezos’ $10-billion Bezos Earth Fund has ended its support for the Science Based Targets initiative (#SBTi), the main verifier of corporate climate targets, the Financial Times reported and Bloomberg summarized. SBTi received criticism when it explored a potential #carboncredit recognition plan in 2024. The criticism ultimately triggered an SBTi CEO transition. 7. United States - Washington Data Center Study: Washington Governor Bob Ferguson is forming a workgroup to explore the impact of #datacenters in the state. The executive order surfaces amid growing demand for #AI data centers -- which has pressured energy suppliers nationwide. Amazon and Microsoft, among others, have a heavy data center presence in Washington. Under the executive order, the workgroup has until December 1 of 2025 to submit its findings and recommendations, GeekWire reported. Energy Storage: Tesla's #energystorage deployments reached an all-time high in Q4, but declined sequentially because of supply constraints, CFO Taneja said during the company's earnings call. To scale supplies, Tesla is building a Megafactory in Shanghai. As a result, the company expects at least 50% growth in deployments year-over-year in 2025, he added. 2. Full Self Driving Service Launch:  #Tesla plans to launch #FullSelfDriving as a paid service in #Austin, Texas in June 2025, Musk said about #FSD during the earnings call. 3. Optimus Robots: Tesla is striving to build 10,000 #Optimus robots in 2025, Musk said during the earnings call. "Will we succeed in building 10,000 exactly by the end of December this year? Probably not, but will we succeed in making several thousand? Yes, I think we will," Musk said. Moreover, he predicted: "It doesn't take very many years before we're making 100 million of these things a year." The robots will be able to do everything from play the piano to thread a needle, he predicted.

Refurbished Technology Sales: #Alchemy's global refurbished tech trading platform, called #Callisto, remains in growth mode and now serves more than 3,000 wholesaler buyers and sellers globally, the company said. In the past 12 months, 620 new buyers began trading through Callisto and the platform recorded a Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) of $600 million, the firm added. Overall, Callisto has "facilitated the sale of used, refurbished and like-new tech amounting to $1.6 billion in GMV since April 2019," Alchemy noted. Data Center Energy Efficiency: A small #Linux kernel software update can cut data center energy use by 30%, research from the University of Waterloo's Cheriton School of Computer Science found, according to professor Martin Karsten. 3. Integration - Energy Management and Cloud Services: Baker Hughes is further optimizing and integrating their energy management software with Microsoft #Azure cloud services, the companies said. 4. Amazon Power Purchase Agreement (PPA): Amazon and energy supplier Iberdrola have expanded their strategic partnership, which originally surfaced in 2022. The new agreement involves #solar and #wind energy across five countries. 5. Amazon - Asia Pacific Data Centers: Amazon Web Services (AWS) has begun using #lowcarbon concrete in the construction of new #datacenters in Japan, DatacenterDynamics reported. 6. Partnership - Smart Building Technology: ABB's InSite energy management system is set to integrate into Samsung Electronics's SmartThings and SmartThings Pro platforms. The integration "allows users to easily visualize, control, and optimize energy consumption in residential, multi-apartment, mixed-use, and light commercial buildings," the companies said. #SmartBuildings 7. Partnership - Solar Energy: OpenSolar’s design software is now available within the Sunnova Energy Catalyst dealer platform, the two companies said. The software allows Sunnova dealers to "generate accurate proposals in seconds," according to Jake Wachman, Sunnova’s senior VP of technology and software engineering. 8. M&A - IT Services and Environmental Consulting: Parsons Corporation has acquired TRS Group, Inc., an environmental solutions firm, for $36 million, the companies said. 9. M&A - Smart Building Technology: #PrivateEquity firm Platte River Equity has acquired Building Controls & Solutions (#BCS) from LKCM Headwater Investments. BCS is a value-added distributor of building automation solutions.
