Happy 100th birthday to Ms. Helen Rose! When Rudy, the MYR Station Manager, noticed a Passenger was joining the Centenarian club, he worked with Jill, one of our Flight Attendants, to make her flight extra special. They had the whole plane sing her happy birthday and downed her with a crown, name tag, and a special flyer certificate. When asked for any words of wisdom, she said simply, "Keep the faith!" Cheers to you, Ms. Helen Rose, we loved having you onboard and hope to celebrate you again in the near future. 💙 ❤️ 💛

As the Love Airline, we knew we had to do something extra sweet for Valentine's Day. That's why we partnered with Russell Stover Chocolates to surprise Customers at Kansas City International Airport with free chocolate! We didn't stop there - 3 lucky flights were gifted a large chocolate box to take to their valentine and one special flight even had a saxophonist serenading Customers at 35,000 feet! Meet newly engaged couple, Greg and Natasha! Greg has worked at Southwest for 8 years, and Natasha has been here for 5 years. Though working in different departments, their paths rarely crossed; until one serendipitous day, they sat next to each other on a flight from BWI to DAL. Greg asked for help with his crossword puzzle, and they hit it off immediately. Turns out, love IS in the air! 11 months of adventure later, after visiting family, Greg decided to pop the question at Dallas Love Field Airport with friends and family waiting and cheering them on. At 35,000 feet, with the help of our Flight Attendants, Benjamin took the intercom and made a very special announcement: "Ladies & gentlemen, please give me your undivided attention. For those of you that do not know me, I’m Benjamin and my country of birth is Liberia. Today, there’s a VIP lady on this flight with us. To me, she’s the most beautiful, loving and kind-hearted woman in the world. Her name is Relindis and she’s originally from Cameroon. Relindis. You bring out the best in me; you support me, you see my talents, you encourage me, you respect me, you trust and love me. I believe with all my heart, soul, and mind that with you, I’m complete. I love and trust you! And I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?” Of course Relindis gave an enthusiastic "yes" and the whole plane celebrated!
