Noemi Garcia MD was a Family Medicine doctor when she was looking for a career that would not only bring fulfillment but also allow her to step away from a clinical environment. Being part of a family of entrepreneurs, she has always had a passion for business. Owning a SERVPRO franchise presented an opportunity for her to blend her business aptitude and leadership skills while creating her own approach to building a team.

As Southern California residents are still feeling the effects of the recent wildfires, SERVPRO Global DRT sought an opportunity for generosity and compassion. Through a grant to the First Responders Children's Foundation, they provided direct support to Los Angeles County Fire Department Captain Alek Edwards and his family who lost their home in the Palisades Fire. This donation will help the Edwards family recover, rebuild, and move forward after their tragic loss. Watch here: https://lnkd.in/e-yC_694

Today I had the privilege of MCing SERVPRO’s first Women’s Leadership Conference. Not only was the day filled with meaningful connections and uplifting conversations, but it also gave me the opportunity to learn and grow as a leader—and, equally important, to continue to grow as a presenter. Thank you to Maribeth Nash Bearfield & Joy Wald for sharing your insights. Thank you for the honor and for trusting me to guide the day, Stephanie Rogers, CDR. Kudos to you and the committee on an incredible event! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Hero Starts with Her 💙 March is Women’s History Month, a time to honor the fearless women who have shaped history through their strength and sacrifice. Hero Starts with Her, and these extraordinary female first responders, honored at our National First Responders Day Ceremony, embody what it means to serve with courage and resilience. 🔥 Katie Remley – A volunteer firefighter who crawled through thick smoke and flames to rescue a 9-year-old girl trapped in a burning home. With her own life at risk, she carried the child to safety, ensuring she survived her severe burns. 🚑 Sandra Sand – An EMT who responded to a devastating accident where a young teen was struck by a vehicle. In a moment of fear and uncertainty, she provided not only critical medical care but also comfort, making a terrifying day a little less overwhelming for the young patient. 📞 Amanda Garr – A 911 dispatcher whose steady guidance helped save a retired firefighter’s life. As his wife performed CPR under Amanda’s instruction, she provided reassurance and direction—helping keep him alive until paramedics arrived. 👮 Theresa Tobin – An NYPD hero who was at Ground Zero on 9/11. Injured in the collapse of the Twin Towers, she refused to stop helping others, pushing through the chaos to continue serving her fellow New Yorkers in one of the darkest moments in history. These women remind us that heroism isn’t just about strength—it’s about heart, dedication, and the courage to step up when it matters most.

Traveling to California this week was both eye-opening and humbling. Witnessing the devastation caused by the wildfires firsthand was heartbreaking, but what stood out even more was the resilience of the communities and the unwavering dedication of those on the front lines. Earlier in the week, SERVPRO had the privilege of partnering with the First Responders Children's Foundation to hold a special appreciation event for first responders—true heroes who put everything on the line to protect lives and property. Their hard work and sacrifice cannot be overstated, and we are incredibly grateful. I also had the opportunity to spend some time with our SERVPRO teams on the ground—teams made up of people who live in these communities and are now working tirelessly to help rebuild them. In the face of destruction, their expertise and compassion are making a real difference, helping families and businesses take the first steps toward recovery. Disasters like this remind us why we do what we do. While the road ahead is long, through teamwork, determination, and support, these communities will rise again.
