  • LTV is the future of e-commerce. Our growth strategist Yaw Owusu-Boahen details the best strategy to maximize LTV in an increasingly crowded marketplace. Following the global pandemic, e-commerce is at an inflection point of adoption that will bring in a slew of new potential customers to win in the marketplace. However, increased data privacy measures taken by customer acquisition platforms makes differentiation through acquisition increasingly difficult. The firm of the future acknowledges these conflicting trends and optimizes for the levers completely in its control - LTV levers. Learning to optimize for increased LTV can be of benefit to any business in the space, especially those looking to grow sustainably in an increasingly uncertain competitive environment. #strategy #business #ecommerce #cac #ltv #startups

Political ad spend is driving Meta CPMs through the roof 📈, and it's about to get worse There are two popular narratives I’ve seen circulating: - Election ad spend will hit $12 BILLION in 2024 - Non-political brands are getting squeezed out of premium ad space But here’s what the data REALLY shows: Kamala Harris’s campaign is OUTSPENDING Trump 3 to 1 on paid media. In August alone, her team spent $137 million on media production and ad buys, while Trump’s spent just $47 million. And with $235 million cash on hand, she has plenty left to spend as the election heats up 🔥 That means CPMs are only going to keep rising—especially on Meta What you NEED to know: The spikes we’re seeing in CPMs around key election events (Biden drops out, Harris picks VP, the debates) are just the beginning. Here’s how we’re staying ahead: 💡 Iterative Ad Refreshing: Constantly tweaking visuals and copy to keep ads fresh and “trick” the algorithm 🎯 Broader Audiences: Giving Meta’s algorithm more room to optimize by expanding targeting 🔥 Retargeting: Focusing on warm audiences to stretch every dollar ⏳ Monitoring Frequency: Setting up automated rules to limit ad fatigue and keep engagement high With political spending expected to keep climbing, how are you all adjusting your strategies to stay competitive? 🤔 Would love to hear your thoughts! 👇 🇳🇱 Amsterdam gang, where you @? Unlocking Consumer Insights for Brands & Agencies with KnoCommerce.

Here's my (accidental) undercover hack to find the best partners in e-comm. 👇 As a brand owner by night and a partnership lead in my full-time capacity, I regularly meet with a ton of SaaS and service providers. It’s also common when I meet with a provider that they have no clue who I am so it’s easy for me to see their true colors right off the bat. Here are 3 partners + examples to illustrate how having a brand shows a partner's true colors before any true partnership begins. 1. My boys over at Alia - when I first was approached by Cory Gill, I took a meeting cause I thought their tool was cool, but didn’t think I really needed it. Little did I know, I was about to get the most personalized treatment I had ever received. It’s rare, even I haven’t always done this, to come to a call and have a personalized deck readily built out for you to personalize the value. Now, I strive to be a the general in the Alia Army to try and help however I can. 2. Atria AI - Understanding what creative converts and why is hard, especially when I’ve only ever made 100 or so ads in my life. When trying to reach out to another provider, they offered an onboarding call, but couldn’t even get a sales rep to meet as they canceled it. But Ray (지범) Jang 🐰, the FOUNDER, welcomed a call and made sure all my questions were answered. 3. Lastly, SelfMade - I met Will Sartorius through Foxwell Founders recommendation and when I first met with him, he thought I was there to talk about creative assets for KnoCommerce lol. When I informed him I had a brand he treated me exactly the same. One of the strongest communicators I’ve met in the space on having transparency and aligned expectations throughout the whole sales process. ---- While not every e-comm partner person can/does have a brand, how do you vet out a strong partner off the bat? 👇

  • Will Sartorius, our CEO, had the pleasure of joining two powerhouses Tristram Dyer and Edwin Hermawan on their podcast, Founders Forum, where we dove deep into how AI is playing into the current marketing ecosystem Our main focus? The transformative role of AI personas in crafting highly effective Facebook ads that resonate profoundly with our target audience. But what exactly is an AI persona? How do we leverage this technology to predict customer behavior? And, most importantly, how can they make you more money? Check out the podcast to find out the answers to these questions and more! On an enterprise sales call I was told our AI persona analysis is the best and the most actionable deck they had ever seen (and they “had seen a lot”). Needless to say, they signed. So, what sets us apart? Forget the traditional weekly brainstorming sessions to determine who to target – our approach leverages swathes of free data and LLMs do the work for us Here's what we do differently: - We collect reviews using the Browse AI webscrapper - We scrape subreddits for any comments about the brand - We utilize Brandwise to gather Facebook reviews By consolidating this data into a custom GPT, we identify evergreen personas and the “diamonds in the rough persona.” This strategic approach enables us to pinpoint the most promising leads in the funnel and prioritize them effectively The results speak for themselves – our method works seamlessly to optimize targeting and enhance ROI. The persona analysis serves as the foundational step, empowering us to craft compelling ads right from the start and drive positive ROAS in M1

Excited to share that I was interviewed about SelfMade in a Business Insider article discussing the impact of UGC AI in performance marketing At SelfMade, we are all about shipping creatives tailored to specific personas and getting our clients to ROI-positive creative scale as soon as possible. AI creators through Arcads AI and Romain Torres have opened a new ad medium to test, allowing us to diversify our creative stack further—a necessity for any successful full-funnel approach I’ll add that while UGC AI has allowed us to test and succeed with a new ad type, our AI persona process that determines who to target, our strategists who synthesize that material to make it actionable, and our editors who carefully craft each ad creative are indeed where the magic happens. This is now just another tool in the toolbox. I’ve been singing it from the mountaintops: AI 🤝 Humans in the Loop Some industry experts worry that AI-generated UGC might hurt brand authenticity, but let's be real—the vast majority of the time, UGC is scripted for an actor anyway. So, how different is it from an authenticity perspective, really? Dive into the entire article to see how we’re leading the charge at the intersection of AI and performance creatives https://lnkd.in/eScwbDSa

334th… we’ll take it! I am honored to be part of this group of startups, and none of this would be possible without the SM team. From our strategists consistently coming up with new and engaging creatives to push boundaries and test new angles, to our editors who are top-tier and always learning and adapting to the latest AI tools we continue to incorporate into our workflow. A fair amount has changed with SelfMade since its inception in 2015, but one thing remains constant: we stay a team-driven company. We are all humans; you won’t find a single cog. I remain humbled to work with such talented people and cannot wait to show the world what is in store. Onward!
