We appreciate Los Angeles Times’ ongoing coverage of the devastating Jan. windstorms and wildfires in Southern California. Understandably, there has been a great deal of interest in the cause of the Eaton Fire. We recently submitted a relevant op-ed to the Times by Pedro Pizarro, president and CEO of Edison International, the parent company of Southern California Edison (SCE). A storm system has brought moderate to strong Santa Ana winds to Southern California through Thursday. Dry conditions with low humidity will accompany these winds, increasing fire risk. See the latest PSPS outage update below.

Yesterday, our crews were out on the Pacific Coast Highway, working to restore power to Malibu after the Palisades Fire. We’ve been busy with cleanup efforts, ensuring roads are clear for first responders. Now, we’re in the rebuilding phase, replacing damaged poles and installing new covered conductors.
