Tag teamed with my buddy Aashay Sachdeva to represent Sarvam at the first meetup of the India chapter of The AI Alliance. The AI Alliance was established by IBM and Meta last year, to promote responsible AI as we make strides with GenAI models, and bring together various players in the AI ecosystem to foster the development and adoption of Open Source AI. Sarvam is among the 7 new members from India who have been added to the AI Alliance to represent Indian model builders and contributors. Sarvam has released 2 open source models - Sarvam 1 which is a 2B text-to-text foundational model and Shuka v1, which is a voice-to-text Audio LM. Both models are delivering SOTA performance on 10 Indian languages, and we have also open-sourced the evaluation data set and architecture behind these models. Here is the complete demo of my AI ChatUI with Indian regional languages support in React Native with help of Sarvam 's Audio LLMs. I have discussed, 1. How you can ask questions in Hindi/Tamil and get the responses with text and audio responses. 2. Showcased real time speech transcription with speech recognition API from Apple and retrieving real time answers in form of normal text and audio and on how Character AI and other AI apps like Replika get the real time transcription to work seamlessly. 3. Translating Spoken english to the selected regional language and getting answers in it. 4. Generating profile image for the chatbot with help of Flux. 5. Discussed technicalities on how I implemented it in React Native with help of gesture handler, blob-util, rn-video, flatlist, rn-menu for making this demo work. 6. Explanation on making this Frontend-only app to a fullstack app for data persistence for your users.
