The Sarasota County Commission invited Sarasota County beach attendant and U.S. Navy Veteran James Dobson to lead Tuesday's meeting in the Pledge of Allegiance. Meet Tammy Owens, a Housing Recovery Project Manager for Sarasota County. Tammy is dedicated to helping residents rebuild their lives after Hurricane Ian. She ensures that homeowners affected by the storm have access to the resources they need to rebuild their homes and regain stability. - Manages the Housing Recovery Program, which helps Sarasota County residents rebuild and receive reimbursements after Hurricane Ian. - Improves and streamlines the program by refining procedures and training staff. - Ensures compliance with federal Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) guidelines to efficiently allocate $55 million in housing recovery funding. - Helps residents secure safe, stable housing for long-term community recovery.
