Approved! The community followed the MANRS Development Process to propose and approve a new version of the MANRS Community Charter. These changes reflect the growth, impact, and maturity of MANRS and pave a way for its future development. The following areas were updated: Governance, defining how decisions about the rules and the structure of the initiative are made and by whom. Community Activities, defining who is responsible for proposing, developing, and coordinating various community activities, such as developing a program or reviewing Actions and conformance requirements. The MANRS Development Process, outlining roles various entities play in it. Audit and Participation, defining entities responsible for the tasks of onboarding new participants, conformance checks, suspension or termination of non-performing participants, and dispute resolution. We’re thrilled to share that the Global Cyber Alliance has received a USD $500,000 contribution from Craig Newmark Philanthropies. This will allow GCA to enhance key projects related to its Internet Integrity Program, which brings together key players in Internet infrastructure operations to identify top priorities for addressing cybersecurity issues that cannot be solved by any single actor or subset of actors independently. That work includes enhancing the Internet’s #routingsecurity infrastructure through Mutually Agreed Norms for Routing Security (MANRS), fighting malicious unwanted Internet traffic through #AIDE, and creating trust in the domain name space with #DomainTrust. In this Last Call, a voting will determine the outcome of the MANRS Community Charter review process. The voting will be made over the final draft approved by the Steering Committee, available here: https://lnkd.in/e3gNMM46 The voting process will take place as follows: 👉 All MANRS participants' primary contacts will receive an individual ballot on July 9 at 12:00 UTC by e-mail 👉 The message will contain a link to the vote, which will have 3 options 👉 Voting will be open for the entire period of the Last Call, that is, from July 9, 12:00 UTC (tomorrow!) through July 22, 23:59 UTC 👉 Each participant will be able cast their vote only once If you are a participant, remember to vote in this important process. El Curso Práctico: Mutually Agreed Norms for Routing Security (MANRS) - Normas Mutuamente Acordadas para el Ruteo Seguro 🛡️🌐 , impartido por el instructor Emmanuel Serrano Serrano y organizado por la Internet Society en colaboración con Internet Exchange Services Yucatán #IXSY y LAC Digital Academy , ha sido un pilar fundamental en el fortalecimiento de la seguridad y resiliencia de #Internet en la región de Yucatán. 🚀 Este curso se dirigió a un público especializado, incluyendo operadores de red de empresas, gobierno, academia e ISP con #ASN, así como a los #IXSYFellows, abordando un tema crítico: las Normas Mutuamente Acordadas para la Seguridad del Enrutamiento (MANRS). #MANRS es una iniciativa comunitaria global que busca establecer mejores prácticas para un enrutamiento más seguro 🛡️ y confiable para todos los participantes de Internet🌐. ¡Un esfuerzo colaborativo global por una red más robusta! 💪 La modalidad híbrida del curso, ofreciendo sesiones online y presenciales, facilitó la participación de diversos perfiles. In a new research paper, "RPKI Syncing: Delay in Relying Party Synchronization," the authors offer an in-depth exploration of Relying Party (RP) software synchronization delays and how this can impair the responsiveness of RPKI-based validation—and, by extension, Internet routing security. Their key findings: 1️⃣ First, there’s a clear need to optimize ROA structures and streamline validation paths, particularly by consolidating prefixes where feasible. 2️⃣ Second, the importance of low-latency access to Publication Points should be encouraged. Improving the global accessibility of RPKI repositories (e.g. using anycast nodes), could yield important performance benefits. 3️⃣ Third, RP software itself can be further optimized for example by adopting faster storage systems.
