Today I walked through Mrs. Andrews class, which always has something interesting going on. I was excited to see them playing a game I’d played before, but in a different context. It was awesome to see our students using a board game to learn about an important economic concept—scarcity. Kudos to Mrs. Andrews for helping students grasp key ideas while enjoying the process. A hands-on approach helped turn a complex topic into an engaging and competitive experience. Rise Richmond

Yesterday, Rise Academy student Taylor Powell received the surprise of a lifetime when Chick-fil-A Restaurants's CEO Andrew T. Cathy awarded her a $25K Chick-fil-A Remarkable Futures™ Scholarship. Taylor is 1 of just 13 students to receive this award and it’s a testament to her pursuit of academic excellence and the bright future that awaits her. This year, Rise Academy joined the National Honor Society. This is a testament to our dedicated teachers who are building an academic program that meets NHS standards and empowers Rise Academy students to ascend new heights.

Last week, Devonte “Tae Tae” Atkins (Class of 2025) scored his 1,000th career point as a member of the Rise Academy basketball team. Devonte is a team captain and leads his teammates both on and off the court. We're proud of his achievement! 🏆

Our students have returned to school this week and in case you missed it, we have new leadership.
