This year marks a proud milestone for Ria in Australia, where we celebrate two decades of operations Down Under. The Australia team highlighted the occasion—and the opening of their new Sydney office—with an energetic party and a unique-looking cake! Their 20th anniversary year also saw the team achieve impressive feats, such as three accolades at the WeMoney Awards, a recognition that reflects their commitment to making money transfers better across the board. We thank the Ria Australia team for their hard work and continuous commitment to making a difference in our customers' lives. We look forward to a future full of growth, gratitude and purpose. Here's to the next 20 years!

Since entering Africa, Ria has helped transform its remittances landscape, which serve as a lifeline for migrants, families and communities across the continent. Although pricing has improved over the years, challenges remain. For years, remittance costs to Sub-Saharan Africa were among the highest in the world, averaging nearly 8% to send $200 in 2023, according to the World Bank. Driven by many factors, such as limited competition, exclusivity agreements, and reliance on informal channels, the landscape is shifting thanks to key players like Ria. "There was a kind of exclusivity in Africa," said Malick SECK, VP Ria Africa. "The pricing was very expensive and there was a lot of informal business transactions. Thanks to Ria and others, the market is now more transparent, pricing is pretty low, and the volume driven to Africa is pretty big." But we won't stop there. At Ria, we are constantly improving our product offering to provide customers with even greater choice and convenience, supporting Africa's financial future as we do so. Ria and Save the Children have joined forces to support community-led education centers in Mexico. Together, we have provided these Early Childhood Development Centers and their staff with educational materials and training to equip them with the tools to deal with everyday challenges. Last year, the Ria team had the opportunity to visit some of these schools. There, we met the selfless teachers who poor their energy and soul into creating these safe, nurturing spaces where children can learn and grow. Inspired by their work, we asked our own employees to reflect on the educators who had an impact on their lives. Memories came flooding back, and Luis Rubén Herrera Gómez was quick to share the teachers whose commitment and empathy moved him the most.
