ReVision Energy reposted this
The perfect end to the week: I couldn't have asked for a more uplifting way to spend Friday afternoon than in the company of three mission-driven business leaders - each bold, courageous, and creative in their own way. It was my honor to moderate the "Business for a Purposeful Future" panel as part of UNH Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics' annual Women in Business conference. Thank you Margo Walsh, CEO and Founder of MaineWorks, Bridget Sprague, VP of Marketing at ReVision Energy and Erin Allgood, (UNH '09G), Founder of Allgood Strategies for sharing your authentic, candid and impactful stories with us, and for inspiring the audience with a powerful message about how businesses are aligning mission and margin; profit and purpose. Thank you and congratulations to the Women in Business Executive Board , student leaders Megan Charron, Ella Longacre, Audrey Buckenmaier, Mia Pittore, Em Jeffrey and Cailee Figler for such an impressive conference, and Paul College Deans for your support of this important event. Congrats on 10 years Ryan Jean - we're so fortunate to have you on the team as we ride the solar coaster. Here's to the next 10! #EmployeeOwner
Technical Operations Specialist, NH Journeyman Electrician, G7S Solar Electrician(VT), but always learning!
10 years with one company? Who does that anymore? To be honest, it feels more like a decade. For 16 years I have had a passion for this technology inspired by Ben Luce. Reaching a milestone with ReVision Energy this weekend and I am very happy to do so. The solar coaster is a real thing as everyone in the industry knows. However, the one thing I know for sure is that a job in the renewable energy industry is never boring! It takes heart to make a difference in this world and the mind/spirit to overcome challenges that some might see as impossible. This industry is a constantly developing field that mixes construction, technology, and policy, with the hope for a better future. I want you🫵to push the limits of what you think you are capable of. We need electricians, installers, manufacturers, utilities, and policy makers to step it up!! YOU can make the difference and it starts right in your local community. We have a lot of work to do...so let's get to it! 💪🏼🌎☀️ SolarEdge Technologies Enphase Energy Qcells North America Silfab Solar Inc.REC IronRidge - An Enstall Company SPAN

"Travel and tourism make up the second-largest sector in the state’s economy, and most visitors arrive by car. But New Hampshire’s slow approach to building public EV infrastructure could cost the state more than $1.4 billion in tourism revenue by 2031." New Englanders are ready to #DriveElectric but with frozen funding, parts of New Hampshire are at risk for becoming charging deserts. ReVision's Director of eMobility James Penfold was interviewed in this Boston Globe Media article about EV charging in rural areas. https://lnkd.in/eFCrFDps

Our #SolarChampions often ask about ways to spread the solar energy transition beyond their personal solar/heat pump/battery storage installation. People are much more likely to make a powerful life change (like transitioning to renewable energy) when inspired by those around them. Telling your friends, family, and colleagues about your solar journey is a huge step towards fighting the climate crisis.🔆 And it's easy to do that when wearing sustainable, ethically-made merchandise from your favorite local #BCorp solar company.👕The ReVision Merch Store is now live! We've selected a catalog of merchandise which aligns with our values - we hope you find something you like, wear it for a long time, and spark a lot of conversations about renewable energy! https://lnkd.in/eKATA9k3

As a Certified #BCorp, giving back to nonprofits and local organizations is critical to our mission. In 2024, we launched a fund to help our employee-owners deepen their impact in their communities. Every year, each employee-owner receives $250 to donate to a nonprofit or community organization of their choice. Want to recommend a nonprofit for our #employeeowners to consider for 2025? We're partnering with Efficiency Maine Trust on a webinar for Maine businesses, towns, and organizations to learn about battery energy storage solutions. We'll discuss how battery storage can keep the lights on during extreme weather while also reducing demand costs on your monthly electric bill. Program incentives from Efficiency Maine are making 2025 the year to install battery storage for your business, town, or university/college campus. We’ll go over options, designs, costs, and savings – and leave plenty of time for Q+A. Join us to learn more about how your organization can improve resiliency, save money, and meet sustainability goals through battery storage. https://lnkd.in/eZtzUu_j

Thanks to Solar Power World for showcasing the benefits of employee-owned companies: trust, longevity, equity, and belief in the mission. We're proud to be featured alongside our friends at Namaste Solar, Catamount Solar and Burns & McDonnell. Catamount's co-founder Kevin McCollister summed it up perfectly: “That guy on the roof who’s putting holes in your roof with those screws, he’s an owner,” McCollister said. “He really cares about what he’s doing. He’s got pride of ownership, and he’s going to take care of it and do the job.” #ESOP #EmployeeOwned #LocalBiz #EmployeeOwnership #SolarInstaller https://lnkd.in/gg7QEsex

Honored to be featured in Solar Power World alongside some of our favorite solar installers across the country! Our 100% employee-ownership ESOP structure is a crucial part of ReVision Energy. “You can point to all the studies on retention and increased productivity, but at the end of the day, it’s a culture that I think every company wants to build,” [ReVision Co-Founder Daniel Clapp] said. “And this is a true way of actually stepping up and showing your employees or your future co-owners that you’re willing to do it — that you’re going to build a sustainable company that’s going to last well beyond the founders’ careers, and that’s what you’ve got to do if you truly want to make an impact on our clean energy transition — on our social justice missions.”
There are alternatives to traditional business structures. A handful of solar contractors have found that employee-ownership models have strengthened their companies to weather industry turbulence, while building a culture of stronger participation among employee-owners who have a greater stake in how things operate. “Something that I was focused on, and still am, is that a company’s success isn’t determined, or isn’t in most cases, because of the one guy who happens to be the company owner,” said Kevin McCollister, partner and co-founder of Catamount Solar. “Everybody plays a role in making a company a success, and so they should share in that success more.” For this story, I spoke to Catamount Solar, Namaste Solar, ReVision Energy and Burns & McDonnell about being employee-owned companies in the U.S. solar industry. You can find that below.
