What Ambitious Founders Want ____ Before I started PHX Ventures, I spent 20 years starting, scaling, and selling companies. I love company building, but it is a lonely proposition. If you know me, you have probably heard me say that the loneliest times in my life occurred when I was an early-stage founder. People and advice were everywhere, but I felt so truly alone at times. In those days, I felt the least lonely when I was around other ambitious software founders who had done, or were trying to do, what I wanted to do - build a winning software company in AZ. That was my tribe but finding other ambitious software founders in Arizona who were at my stage and who truly wanted to win was quite difficult. I started PHX FWD a couple of years ago to help Arizona software founders win....and feel a little less lonely in the process. When Clate Mask joined PHX FWD as CEO earlier this year, he was clear that the primary way to help software founders win was through stage-specific, founder-led mastermind groups. I completely agree. PHX FWD Masterminds are a trusted group of software founders who meet regularly to share, learn, and grow together.
