A new group of attendees stepped up to the challenge at PE Bootcamp last week, sharpening their communication skills and learning how to work effectively with key project stakeholders. Each team managed safety, design features, and change orders while preparing a presentation for the owner and building a bridge from glue and popsicle sticks. Congratulations to Duckworks LLC for winning the overall project and presentation. In the strength test, Knuckleball Construction LLC built the strongest bridge, holding an impressive 103.2 pounds. This training provides project engineers with hands-on experience in problem-solving, teamwork, and decision-making—key skills for navigating real-world job site challenges. At PCI, we recognize employees who exemplify our Core Values with the People First Award. The awardees here are all great examples of our first core value—Safety! While walking a job site, PCI Chicago Superintendent Mark Kropke responded to calls for help and found an electrician unresponsive after a fall. He coordinated with 911, ensured CPR was administered, and cleared space for paramedics—actions that helped save a life. 🦺❤️ Connor Davidson, Journeyman from PCI Memphis, took immediate action when an ironworker fell and was left suspended in his harness. Knowing the urgency, Connor used a scissor lift to lower him safely, all within the timeframe needed to prevent serious injury. His knowledge of fall protection protocols made all the difference. 🦺🪜 Project Manager Tyler Hampton was off the job when he witnessed a driver having a medical emergency on the road. Using the CPR skills he learned in PCI Phoenix’s branch CPR training, he performed chest compressions until paramedics arrived. Tyler's actions contributed to helping the driver survive. 🦺🚙 Mark, Connor, and Tyler stepped up when it mattered most.
