Reese was kind and patient, and she answered all of my questions. She didn't make me feel like a burden. In fact, I told her I thought I was dying and she chipperly responded with 'not on my watch.' She said she was going to take care of me, and she did just that. When I got a call from my primary care doctor to immediately go to the emergency room, I was lucky enough to have Reese again. She was upbeat, kind, and was able to walk me through everything. She went above and beyond. I told her that I want a note in my file that I always need her as my nurse. Welcome April Brannum, FNP, to Parkland Health Center Medical Clinic North. April is a board-certified family medicine nurse practitioner treating patients of all ages. She provides preventive care and manages chronic conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure, and COPD. April also performs procedures like mole removals and joint injections. April is committed to providing personalized care and creating a welcoming environment where patients feel safe, valued, and respected. By understanding her patient’s lifestyles, she guides and supports them along their journey to achieving their health goals. Originally from Belleview, Missouri, April enjoys spending her free time with family, attending concerts, golfing, and reading. She's passionate about giving back to her community through volunteer work with organizations like the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Cerebral Palsy Foundation, and the American Diabetes Association. Congratulations to Marissa Collins, RN, for being honored as Parkland Health Center’s January Employee of the Month! 👏 Marissa was recognized for her incredible teamwork. As a leader in our cardiac cath lab, she works closely with other departments to provide safe, excellent care to our patients while constantly looking for ways to improve care to best fit the needs of our community. Meet Ruth Ann, an oncology pharmacy technician at Parkland Health Center, whose love for science and helping others led her to a rewarding career. Ruth Ann started as a retail pharmacy technician at 18 and worked her way into hospital pharmacy, where she makes a difference for our patients every day. Her favorite motto is “try to leave things better than you found them.” It’s a principle Ruth Ann exemplifies daily in her role, ensuring the best for her team and patients alike.
