Back in 1975, former Pacific Gas and Electric Company Vice President Tony Harris was one of the people who helped form the National Society of Black Engineers. The group’s mission was “to increase the number of culturally responsible Black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community.” #NSBE has grown from a group of more than 130 students from nearly 30 schools to now more than 22,000 members and 850 chapters worldwide. Not only is NSBE celebrating its 50th #anniversary, PG&E’s chapter turns 30 years old this year. “To know I was part of something impactful that has lasted so long makes me feel very proud,” said Tony. Let hearts soar, not metallic balloons this Valentine’s Day. In 2024, metallic balloons caused 369 power outages across PG&E's service area in Northern and Central California, disrupting electric service to more than 230,000 homes and businesses. Help avoid power outages and injuries by keeping metallic balloons🎈securely tied down with a weight. #vday #valentinesday Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gE5KryyV

PG&E is proud to partner with Hunger at Home to fight #foodinsecurity in #SanJose and #SantaClaraCounty. This past Monday, PG&E VP South Bay and Central Coast Region, Teresa Alvarado and local PG&E coworkers volunteered their time to pack nutritious meals for over 150 families who received 75 pounds of food each in a weekly drive-through distribution event at PayPal Park. In 2024, Hunger at Home was one of 10 Bay Area organizations who received 5,000 meals after PG&E CORPORATION FOUNDATION and San Jose Earthquakes Soccer Quakes Foundation donated $200,000 for 50,000 meals total. Food distribution was provided by Loaves & Fishes Family Kitchen, Hunger at Home , Martha's Village & Kitchen, Alameda County Community Food Bank, Second Harvest of Silicon Valley, Sunnyvale Community Services, Food Bank For Monterey County, FRONT DOOR COMMUNITIES, Hope's Corner and CityTeam. This year, Quakes Foundation and The PG&E Corporation Foundation have partnered up again, this time to donate 51,000 meals to combat food insecurity in the local #community! #PoweringCommunity #CommunityImpact #StrongerTogether
