Meet this month’s #PACCARSpotlight employee, Abby Stephens. Abby began her career at PACCAR as a Manufacturing Engineering Intern in the ME-Assembly department at PACCAR Engine Company during the summer of 2023, prior to starting her senior year at Mississippi State University. After a three-month internship, she received and accepted a full-time offer, starting in May 2024. She initially worked the evening shift but has recently transitioned to the day shift to better support departmental operations. To prepare for her interview, Abby thoroughly reviewed her resume to ensure she could confidently discuss every point. She focused on the skills and experiences she was most comfortable explaining and removed any skills she could not speak about fluently, allowing her to concentrate on her strengths during the interview. Abby’s first month at PACCAR during the internship was both humbling and enlightening, as she adapted to the engine plant environment and gained valuable insights into professionalism, engineering practices, and teamwork, as the environment encouraged her to ask questions and accept constructive criticism. It was a pivotal time for her professional growth and development. Abby said, “my department actively encourages continuous learning and personal development, motivating me to expand my skills and take on new challenges.” #WeArePACCAR
