We are back for the final day of exhibiting, networking, and presenting at Grid Edge Conference. These past couple of days have been interesting! On Tuesday, leaders from OATI, CAISO, Lumi Energy, North Carolina's Electric Cooperatives, and IIT had a panel discussion about a problem that is threatening system reliability, market efficiency, and operational economics: intermittent renewable generation coupled with increased frequency and severity of extreme weather events. Each panelist shared how they envision emerging business models and solutions addressing this complex issue. Yesterday, OATI teamed up with North Carolina's Electric Cooperatives to present on OATI’s DERMS technologies operating in the field and how they remedy the difficulties in dealing with customer and 3rd-party-owned behind-the-meter (BTM) assets. Later, OATI gave a presentation on analytical tools and software that capitalize on the massive volume of data being generated by smart meters and sensors. We are grateful to be in San Diego participating in this year's event. Thank you to everyone who has helped make this past week a good one!
