Their commitment to innovation and excellence was evident in every conversation. 🔹 𝗞𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗶𝘀𝗲𝘀 – Delivering on commitments is core to who we are. Celebrating International Day of Women and Girls in Science! ♀️🔬🌟 Every February 11, we honor the remarkable achievements of women—known and unknown, remembered and forgotten—who have paved the way for those of us in science today. Despite progress, the statistics collected by the UN in 2024 highlight ongoing challenges: 🔴 Women represent 33.3% of all researchers but only 12% of national science academy members. 🔴 Women receive smaller research grants than their male colleagues. 🔴 Women account for only 28% of engineering graduates and 40% of computer science and informatics graduates. 🔴 In cutting-edge fields like artificial intelligence, only 22% of professionals are women. At Novanta, we are committed to changing these statistics. We believe in promoting science to girls at a young age by inviting them to our sites and showcasing our women leaders to inspire and grow the next generation of women in STEM. Robert, a student intern from our Berlin location, shares his experience at Novanta! 🎒🙋♂️ “As part of my ninth-grade year, I had the great opportunity to complete a two-week student internship at Novanta. I worked in the Employee & Sustainability Communications and Marketing departments, which gave me valuable insights into the world of work. I got to know the company's intranet, learned how to edit and publish news, and created my own SharePoint pages. Learning about the differences between upstream and downstream marketing has significantly expanded my understanding of the strategic direction of marketing measures. A special day was the visit to the workshop, where the structure and functioning of a pump were explained to me. This practical experience showed me how important technical knowledge can be in the field of communication and marketing.
