In celebration of Women’s History Month, Nissin Foods USA is proud to highlight Candace Scott, the HR Manager at our Greenville, SC location. As an only child, Candace was strongly influenced by her mother's values of faith, hard work, independence, education, and family. Her journey is characterized by resilience, integrity, and a commitment to both charity and family. We are fortunate to have Candace at our Greenville plant, where she will leverage her leadership skills and dedication to cultivate a thriving and positive workplace culture. #nissinfoods #WomensHistoryMonth #WomenInLeadership
About us
In 1958, our founder, Momofuku Ando created the world’s first instant noodles. On a trip to the U.S. in 1966, Mr. Ando noticed Americans curiously eating forkfuls of noodles out of cups, instead of using bowls and chopsticks. With that simple observation, the worldwide Cup Noodles® phenomenon was born. Shortly after, in 1970, Nissin officially put down its roots in the U.S. In 1972, our Gardena, CA, plant started production of Top Ramen®—the first instant ramen manufactured and sold in the U.S. And ever since, Nissin Foods USA has been creating jobs, launching careers and sharing the joy of noodles with the world.

We were honored to welcome Mayor Tasha Cerda and key leaders from the City of Gardena, including City Manager Clint Osorio, Recreation & Human Services Director Stephany Santin, Economic Development Manager Jackie Choi, and Communications Officer Audra Lowe, to our facility in Gardena, CA. We enjoyed sharing Nissin Foods’ global history and our deep roots in Gardena, where our U.S. operations began in 1972. This visit was a great opportunity to strengthen our partnership with the City of Gardena, highlight the work we do, and showcase the passion behind our team. We were also excited to learn more about ways we can further support the Gardena community and continue building on our strong relationship. Today, we celebrate the birthday of our founder, Momofuku Ando. Though he is no longer with us, his vision and innovation continue to shape our company and inspire us all. Each year, we honor his legacy by giving back, just as he dedicated his life to helping others and ensuring food security for all. To celebrate his lasting impact, our team came together today to support our community in meaningful ways: ◾Change for Change Drive – Collecting donations to support Feeding America and provide meals to those in need. ◾Origami Cranes for Children – Crafting cranes to bring smiles to young patients at Miller Children’s & Women’s Hospital. ◾Thank You Letters to Firefighters – Sending heartfelt appreciation to the brave first responders who fought the recent LA wildfires. Momofuku Ando dedicated his life to making a difference, and today, we proudly continue that mission.
