Today on #NationalFirstRespondersDay, ODNI thanks first responders across our nation for their service and commitment to safety. The National Counterterrorism Center’s Joint Counterterrorism Assessment Team (JCAT) integrates state, local, tribal and territorial first responders and public safety professionals into the IC, along with DHS and FBI, to enhance information sharing and improve public safety. NCTC was proud to co-host the second annual Screening and Vetting Conference with the National Vetting Center. We welcomed 350 participants, both in-person and virtually, from more than 25 U.S. Government agencies for the two-day event. NCTC Acting Director Brett Holmgren discussed the changing screening and vetting landscape and the criticality of continued collaboration and integration across our partners. He was joined by U.S. Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Troy Miller and Special Assistant to the President and National Security Council Senior Director for Transborder Monte Hawkins, among other senior leaders across the U.S. Government. "Together, we are confident that this community, working collaboratively, can identify the common challenges we face, share lessons learned, and find ways to innovate new technologies that we can all leverage," Holmgren said.
