Watch the recording of last month's Johns Hopkins Center for Mental Health and Addiction Policy event, "A Mental Health in All Policies Agenda for the New Administration" which included valuable insights from NAMI's Chief Advocacy Officer Hannah Wesolowski. We are honored to be included alongside mental health policymakers and leaders in this important conversation! Watch now: https://lnkd.in/euKiRHjU
The first event in CMAP's three-part event series took place at the Hopkins Bloomberg Center in Washington D.C. on February 27th. The event, A Mental Health in All Policies Agenda for the New Administration, brought together a panel of leaders from government, foundations, and academia to discuss economic empowerment as a pillar of mental health in all policies agenda that can guide the next administration. Speakers discussed a number of topics, including the evidence around upstream factors that shape mental health, what role individuals play in shaping mental health outcomes, the role structural racism has played in mental illness and addiction crises, and what bipartisan approaches to addressing these issues could look like. We are proud to be partnering with Grammy Award-winning producer Sir Billy Dorsey, Jr. on his latest project, Sunday Dinner—blending world music and spoken word with mental health advocacy to spark healing and hope. Together, we’re using the power of music to ignite conversations, build community, and make a lasting impact on mental health. officialsundaydinner.com
From Homelessness to Royalty: International Speaker, author (In the Right Seat), Award winning music producer, Royal Knight
Exciting things are happening as I prepare for my next global album and multimedia project, Sunday Dinner! I’m honored to announce that I am now a national ambassador for NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness), joining incredible talents like Emmy & Golden Globe winner Sterling K. Brown (This Is Us, Black Panther), New York Times Bestselling author and guru Jay Shetty, and Clark Gregg (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., The Avengers), among many others. Years ago, when I was homeless on the streets of 5th Ward in Houston, I battled crippling depression and suicidal thoughts—proof that faith alone doesn’t make us immune to the struggle. Mental health is a cause close to my heart, and NAMI has been my family for years. I’m excited for what’s ahead. Once I wrap up my current projects, I’ll be heading back overseas to create something truly powerful for Sunday Dinner, something so much bigger than just music. Something that truly matters. See you back at the Grammys…. More announcements soon to come. #Impact #NAMI #NAMIambassador #SundayDinner #biggerthanmusic #thebridgelifeinc
