Great partnerships are built on shared vision, hard work, and moments like these. It was an honor to host the Hydrosat team at our offices, test facilities, and production sites last week. Seeing VanZyl-2 in its final stages before launch was a special moment—not just for your team, but for all of us who have had the privilege of working alongside you. Hydrosat’s mission to democratize geospatial data and empower farmers worldwide is inspiring, and we’re proud to support it. The countdown to launch is on—let’s make it happen! 🚀🛰️
Some moments make you stop and realize just how far you’ve come. Last week in San Francisco, part of our team got to see VanZyl-2 in its final steps before launch. Standing in front of it, knowing it will soon be in orbit, was a surreal and exciting moment for all of us at Hydrosat. Beyond the satellite, this trip was about people. We spent time with our amazing partners at Muon Space visiting their offices, test facilities, and production sites. Their progress and installations are truly impressive, and we’re proud to be working alongside them. Oh, and if you’re wondering about the name « Muon Space », let’s just say their founder has a deep passion for particle physics. Ask him about it sometime, he has two great stories (one of them is even space-related 👀). Launch is getting closer… 🛰️ 📸 Max Brand, Jonny Dyer, Nickolas Kirby, Pieter Fossel, Royce Dalby, Rebecca McGinley, Scott Soenen, Wim Bastiaanssen, Albert Abello, Demir Devecigil, Idris Habbassi, Brett Blom.

Muon Space reposted this
In this Quartz article, reporter William G. discusses the #FireSat program with our Executive Director Brian Collins and scientist Cathy Olkin from our technical partner Muon Space. 💬 "FireSat is projected to be capable of quickly detecting fires as small as a five-by-five meter classroom once fully operational. 'Other systems are not designed for fire. They can detect a fire, but it’s usually really big when you detect it,' Collins said. 'We want to pick up a small, low-intensity fire, even if that means we’re going to detect burn piles because we need to know the intensity.'" 💬 Read the full article 🔻
