Congratulations to St. Charles Community College for securing a $988,731 National Science Foundation (NSF) grant to launch their innovative Biotechnology Program in Fall 2025! The "Biotech Prep: Pathway for Work-Ready Biotechnicians" initiative will equip students with industry-aligned skills, certifications, and microcredentials to excel in the biotech workforce. "This grant is a transformative investment in biotechnology education," said Dr. Monica Hall-Woods, Professor of Biology and Principal Investigator. "By prioritizing workforce development and industry-relevant training, it prepares students to become skilled biotechnicians, driving innovation and strengthening the St. Louis biotech sector."
