  • Today, we’re honoring Patrick Bailey-Gray, “D Magazine” Excellence in Nursing Award winner. The inpatient diabetes care education specialist at Methodist Mansfield, she counsels nearly 800 patients a year, fostering trust and understanding with her dedication to one-on-one education. She works closely with providers to design personalized diabetes management and offers emotional support post-discharge. Patients say that she’s the best part of their hospital stay. For 14 years, Patrick has partnered with a faith-based ministry to offer free mammograms to underserved individuals. She’s also coordinated blood drives with Carter Blood Care and counselled many people at dozens of health fairs. Congratulations, Patrick!

  • Methodist Richardson Medical Center is looking for a skilled, compassionate Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurse to serve our patients. In this position, you’ll: • Develop and coordinate plans of care and discharge for patients with wound, ostomy, or continence concerns • Assist the Wound Committee in developing standards of practice for managing wound, ostomy, and incontinence patients • Collaborate with physicians and coordinate schedules with the wound care team • Maintain approved national certification and advanced training in this specialty • Support the vision, mission, and strategic goals of Methodist Health System We’re looking for a candidate with: • 2+ years RN experience and 1+ year wound care experience • BSN degree required • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) training • Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse (CWOCN®️) certification by the Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nursing Certification Board • Ability to work with minimal supervision following probationary period • Energy, motivation, and passion for patient care Methodist Richardson is a 443-bed, full-service, acute care hospital that serves Richardson, Garland, Plano, and surrounding areas.   • Today's "D Magazine" Excellence in Nursing Award winner is Rachel Cochran. Passionate about critical care, Rachel has championed the growth of neurology services at Methodist Mansfield. This includes the addition of the thrombectomy program, expansion of the electroencephalogram (EEG) program, and opening of the neuro critical care unit. She was recently recognized as one of the Texas Hospital Association’s 12 Days of Heroes. This is her second time to receive a "D Magazine" Excellence in Nursing Award.
