For May Wazzan, that intersection led her to take on the leadership of Forward, McKinsey.org's flagship learning program that helps individuals upskill during pivotal moments in their careers. “I believe access to education and skills opens doors for people to shape their personal and professional trajectories. I love designing experiences and programs that serve that purpose. As knowledge becomes more accessible, the real advantage lies in asking the right questions and knowing how to apply the answers, while nurturing a learner’s mindset.” Once a McKinsey alum, May rejoined McKinsey in 2020 to launch the Forward program, bringing deep passion for community impact and years of experience working on nonprofit programs focused on education and large-scale skill development. Indian non-profit The Akanksha Foundation has one clear goal: to run 500 schools and reach 80,000 students before 2030, giving children the knowledge, skills, and values to help them break out of the cycle of poverty.
