About us
Our programs bring the best of McKinsey to nonprofits and individuals determined to continue growing. McKinsey believes that for all people to prosper, economies must grow. A new era of growth is possible: one that doesn’t treat growth and positive impact as opposing forces. McKinsey is privileged to work with organizations that are on a new growth journey—one that pursues sustainability, inclusion, and economic growth, all at the same time. McKinsey & Company has a long history of giving back by helping communities and nurturing great talent. In 2020, McKinsey made a 10-year $2 billion commitment to social responsibility. Two years later, McKinsey.org launched to provide pro-bono skill-building programs for nonprofits and individuals.

We’re honored to have partnered with Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta through our Ability to Execute (A2E) program in 2021. After completing the A2E for Nonprofits program, BGCMA’s employees started working even more closely together - and with a shared understanding of where the organization was going and how to get there. That experience laid the foundation for a follow-on pro bono engagement aimed at expanding BGCMA’s reach, enhancing its operations, and ensuring young people receive the support they need—where and when it matters most. Learn more how BGCMA built on this foundation to expand its reach and deepen its impact on Atlanta’s next generation: https://mck.co/45oiYan

Opportunities arise when passion meets experience. For May Wazzan, that intersection led her to take on the leadership of Forward, McKinsey.org's flagship learning program that helps individuals upskill during pivotal moments in their careers. “I believe access to education and skills opens doors for people to shape their personal and professional trajectories. I love designing experiences and programs that serve that purpose. As knowledge becomes more accessible, the real advantage lies in asking the right questions and knowing how to apply the answers, while nurturing a learner’s mindset.” Once a McKinsey alum, May rejoined McKinsey in 2020 to launch the Forward program, bringing deep passion for community impact and years of experience working on nonprofit programs focused on education and large-scale skill development. Her approach is both hands-on and deeply personal - championing each participant’s growth with empathy and intention. “It wasn’t immediately clear what I wanted to stand for early in my career, but it came together through a continuous cycle of reflection and action. That’s one of the habits I love sharing with my colleagues and every Forward participant.” Learn more about the Forward program here: https://mck.co/4lTAg64 #McKinseyOrg #Leadership #TakeAStepForward

Indian non-profit The Akanksha Foundation has one clear goal: to run 500 schools and reach 80,000 students before 2030, giving children the knowledge, skills, and values to help them break out of the cycle of poverty. Akanksha is transforming education for children from low-income backgrounds in Mumbai, Pune, and Nagpur—but to support its ambitious goals, the organization wished to improve accountability, and align its teams’ ways of working to become more efficient. We’re especially proud of our work with The Akanksha Foundation. Through our Ability to Execute (A2E) for Nonprofits program, we collaborated with the team to help strengthen their operational effectiveness, helping them navigate daily complexities with greater strategic clarity and resilience. At McKinsey.org, we believe in the power of sharing our best to help individuals and nonprofits create lasting change. This partnership underscores how investing in organizational strength amplifies impact, by supporting the leaders, teachers, and children that Akanksha serves. Learn about this impactful collaboration, as well as Akanksha CEO Saurabh Taneja's experience with A2E, on our blog: https://lnkd.in/eF6Bw62n
