Thanks to Artists for Humanity for hosting and helping us make the 2025 Mayor's Youth Summit a success!
The energy at AFH’s EpiCenter this past Saturday was truly unmatched! Overflowing with talented and passionate young people, the Mayor’s Youth Summit highlighted the incredible contributions Boston’s teens have made over the past year. The day was filled with food, entertainment, guest speakers, awards, and so much more. “Boston’s future is in our young people, and we’re lucky to have their leadership and energy to build a city for everyone. We were so excited to bring back the Mayor’s Youth Summit last year for the first time in decades, and this year we will be expanding it based on high demand,” said Mayor Michelle Wu. “I look forward to another exciting summit held in partnership with local organizations doing great work with our youth.” For the second year in a row, Artists for Humanity is proud to host the Mayor’s Youth Summit! As an organization dedicated to youth development and creative transformation, we are thrilled to contribute to the celebration of youth engagement and employment. A huge thank you to Chief José F. Massó, Executive Director Pedro Cruz, Deputy Director Lindsey Boozer and the entire OYEA team for their dedication in organizing such a fantastic event for Boston's youth! #mayorsyouthsummit #OYEA #eventvenue #youthdevelopment #youthemployment #festivities Office of Youth Engagement and Advancement

However, our work is far from finished. Together, we are building a Boston where every young person has the opportunity to dream, grow, and lead. We are deeply grateful to the hundreds of community organizations, city agencies, and individual partners who helped make 2024 a success. Happy Black History Month from OYEA! As we reflect on the strength, resilience, and achievements of Black leaders—past, present, and future—we at OYEA know that young changemakers in Boston are part of that legacy. We will continue to work in February and every month to ensure their voices are heard, valued, and acted upon! See our website for a community events calendar of youth programming around the city this month.

Our first Partner Network meeting of 2025 brought individuals from across Boston youth-serving orgs to the incredible Institute of Contemporary Art Boston space last Friday. We had the privilege of hearing Kevin M. Simon, MD, MPH from Boston Public Health Commission speak about his work in destigmatizing youth mental health struggles. It is always a joy to meet new partners and reconnect with existing ones!
