We're looking for experienced, execution-focused consultants and service providers to join the "Madica Core Service Providers Network" under our Fundraising and Growth strategic pillars. What does it really take to build a VC fund in Africa from the ground up? Emmanuel Adegboye, shares personal reflections on the journey so far, from idea to launch to growing an 8-country portfolio and why continuous learning has been key to building both Madica and himself as a fund manager. His article offers a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to build a fund like Madica. One focused not just on capital, but on rethinking how capital reaches the founders who need it most. His journey is a powerful reminder that great investors aren’t just built on track records, they’re shaped by curiosity, community, and a commitment to continuous learning. We’re proud to be part of this story. It’s still early days, and we’re just getting started. #Madica #AfricanStartups #EmergingFundManagers #FounderSupport #VCinAfrica
Just a little under 3 years into my role at Madica, I'm finally getting some space to write again. In the first of what's hopefully a series of articles on the inner workings of launching and building an Africa-focused fund like Madica, I wanted to highlight the importance of continuous development and the role of some of the ever supportive people, communities and learning programs I've been a part of, including Flourish Ventures, Obuntu Foundation, Newton Venture Program and soon VC Unlocked (run by the team at 500 Global). Please share your thoughts in the comments and let me know if there's anything else you'd like me to write about. https://lnkd.in/epDjVJje
